White sage is a mysterious and showy shrub that adds fantastic texture to the garden.
Unlike other sages, it completely dies back in the fall and winter to emerge again in the spring.
Be warned! It will spread by both seeds and rhizomes. So far, we have not experienced it to overtake a garden but be careful to not give it too much water and consider removing seed heads to reduce overspreading.
Like other sages, it will tolerate the most awful soils, as long as they are well-drained.
